About Us

The Methow Valley Ciderhouse is more than a restaurant that focuses on food, fun, and fine ciders and other beverages. It began with a move to the Methow Valley in 2004 where we found the perfect site for growing organic apples – fifteen acres of rich soil that was once an old lake bed, just outside of Winthrop, Washington. We planted and nurtured many varieties of cider apples from old American, English, and French trees.
In 2007, we opened a tasting room on site where we welcomed families, pets, and the cider loving public to try our ciders, play bocce ball, listen to live music, and generally enjoy hanging out in a beautiful, scenic orchard. In 2015, we decided to expand and move into town where we could receive more exposure and offer more than cider and cider donuts. We purchased the old Fasse Realty building and proceeded to transform it into a venue that is close to town but just far enough away to offer tranquility and space. The Methow Valley Ciderhouse restaurant opened May of 2016 to offer guests beer & wine in addition to cider and a full lunch and dinner menu. And in 2017, we created our Apple Amphitheater - a large outdoor space for eating and drinking while enjoying live musical concerts, dancing, and playing games.
In the fall of 2021, our friend and Restaurant Manager, JP, assumed ownership of the Ciderhouse restaurant. His wife, Mireya, manages the social media and books while JP works his magic in the kitchen and with customers. Richard and Lynne continue to help behind the scenes.
Our current team:

Methow Valley Ciderhouse is proud to be part of the Methow Made campaign—a new way to help people who love the Methow Valley support our local food and farm economy. Funded by the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service, Methow Made is a program of TwispWorks, an organization working to increase economic vitality in the Methow Valley through programs in agriculture, education, technology, art and culture.
